Descriptions you can use
One line: Find the pitch, plan the drive, pack the right things.
Short: Pitch plans camping trips for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Answer six quick questions about how you camp, where you're going, how long the trip is and how far you like to drive, and get a trip plan: stops and nights, campsite filters and the packing checklist for your setup, plus 10 checks before you leave.
Long: Pitch is a camping trip planner made by TKN Studio. On the website, a free 1-minute quiz (how you camp: tent and car, caravan or motorhome; where the trip is going; how many nights; how long you like to drive between stops; and what a good pitch needs) builds a trip plan after you enter your email: stops and nights on one trip sheet, campsite filters, and the packing checklist for your setup (18 items for a tent, 24 for a caravan, 26 for a motorhome) plus 10 checks before leaving. Pitch for iPhone finds campsites on a map with OpenStreetMap data (fee, showers, electricity, pets, altitude and the date each site was last verified) and plans routes with stops, nights, distance per day and a fuel estimate; it does not take bookings or show live availability. Pitch Pro (unlimited routes, stops and favorites, the caravan and motorhome checklists with 10 checks before leaving, route sharing and vehicle height and weight notes) is offered as a pre-order: access starts when the iPhone app is released, with a full refund before then and an automatic refund if it isn't released.
How it works
- Tell it how you camp. Tent and car, caravan or motorhome, the kind of place you're heading to and how many nights the trip is.
- Set your pace. How long you like to drive between stops and what a good pitch needs: showers, electricity, drinking water, toilets, pets welcome or free to stay.
- Get your trip plan. Add your email and see your stops and nights on one trip sheet, your campsite filters and the checklist for your setup: 18 items for a tent, 24 for a caravan, 26 for a motorhome, plus 10 checks before leaving.
- Pick the sites yourself. In Pitch, you choose campsites on the map, with fee, showers, electricity, pets and altitude for each, and the date the details were last verified on OpenStreetMap.
