Camping checklist generator

Choose how you camp, the number of nights and the weather, then tick anything that applies: kids, a dog, a campfire or a site without water or toilets. The list starts from the same items as the checklists in the Pitch app and our tent and RV guides, adds what your trip needs and counts the meals and socks for your nights. It ends with the checks to run before you drive off. Tick items off as you pack, or print the list.

Questions

What should I put on a camping checklist?

Shelter and bedding, a stove and cookware, water containers, food and a cooler, a rain jacket and a warm layer, headlamps, a first aid kit, sunscreen and bug spray, plus chairs, trash bags, toilet paper, maps and your documents. Caravans and motorhomes add leveling ramps and their water, gas and hookup gear.

How much food should I pack for 2 nights of camping?

Plan 2 breakfasts, 3 lunches and 2 dinners, plus snacks and coffee or tea. The generator counts a breakfast and a dinner for each night and a lunch for each day, drive days included.

What do I need for camping with kids?

The usual list plus a headlamp or flashlight for each child, a spare change of clothes, games for downtime, a favorite toy or blanket for bedtime and snacks they know. Tick Kids to add them.

What extra does a caravan or motorhome need?

A caravan adds a hitch lock and breakaway cable, leveling ramps and chocks, water hoses, a gas check and an electric hookup cable. A motorhome adds a full fresh water tank, empty gray and black tanks, a charged leisure battery, toilet chemicals and awning straps. Both get the walk-around checks before you drive off: steps and jacks up, hookups unplugged, the inside secured and gas set for driving.

Can I bring my own firewood for a campfire?

Buy firewood where you'll burn it instead of bringing it from home, since moving firewood can spread tree pests. Have a fire only where the campsite allows it and no fire restrictions apply, keep water, a bucket and a shovel nearby, and leave only when the fire is cool to the touch.

Is my list saved?

Your choices and ticks are saved only in this browser, on this device. Nothing is sent anywhere.
